INILAH.COM, Jakarta - The presence of 70 military personnel the United States (U.S.) considered as a form of distrust of PT Freeport Indonesia to the Police and the Police Department (Police of the Republic of Indonesia).
According to a member of Commission I of Papua, Ali Kastela, Freeport did not believe in the ability of the Police and Armed Forces in securing U.S. investment in Papua.
"Freeport loss, they are not operating mines, because of the conflict, so they wear themselves from America's security," explained Ali told INILAH.COM, Saturday (11/26/2011).
Politicians People's Conscience Party (Hanura) was added, the U.S. government is very interested in securing its assets in Indonesia, including Freeport.

"Indonesia should behave in the presence of American troops in Freeport, by asking about the existence of these," said military analyst, told INILAH.COM MT Arifin, Saturday (11/26/2011).
Arifin said, Indonesia has the right to ask the presence of foreign troops into Indonesian territory, let alone its existence is used to secure the situation there. "The presence of foreign troops must have his permission," he said.

INILAH.COM, Jakarta - Keberadaan 70 personel tentara Amerika Serikat (AS) dinilai sebagai bentuk ketidakpercayaan PT Freeport Indonesia terhadap POLRI dan POLRI (Polisi Republik Indonesia).
Menurut anggota Komisi I DPR dari Papua, Ali Kastela, Freeport tidak percaya dengan kemampuan Polri dan TNI dalam mengamankan investasi AS di Papua.
"Freeport rugi, tambang mereka tidak operasi, karena konflik, makanya mereka memakai keamananan sendiri dari Amerika," terang Ali kepada INILAH.COM, Sabtu (26/11/2011).
Politikus Partai Hati Nurani Rakyat (Hanura) ini menambahkan, pemerintah AS sangat berkepentingan mengamankan aset-asetnya yang berada di Indonesia termasuk Freeport.
Penempatan 70 tentara AS di tambang Freeport menurut Ali merupakan bagian dari upaya AS mengamankan asetnya tersebut. "Bagaimana mereka mau percaya kepada Polri dan TNI kalau tidak bisa meredam kerusuhan di sana," terangnya.
Seperti diberitakan, dalam rapat tim pemantau situasi Papua DPR dengan menteri di jajaran Polhukam, di DPR, Jakarta, Jumat (25/11/2011) terungkap tentang keberadaan tentara AS di tambang Freeport.
"Saat Kunker (Kunjungan Kerja), ada 70 militer Amerika yang masih aktif bekerja di Freeport," ujar anggota Fraksi Partai Hanura, yaitu: Ali Kastela.

tegas menyikapi keberadaan 70 tentara Amerika Serikat di PT Freeport
Indonesia.
"Indonesia harus bersikap dengan adanya tentara Amerika di Freeport,
dengan menanyakan tentang keberadaan tersebut," ujar Pengamat Militer,

"Kedaulatan Indonesia bukan terancam lagi itu sudah dilanggar namanya, tambang Freeport itu aset Indonesia bukan milik Amerika, mereka cuma operator saja," tegas Rico, Sabtu (26/11/2011).
Kalaupun tugas diplomatik, lanjut Rico, tentara AS tersebut tidak boleh dipersenjatai dan tidak boleh berdiam lama di Papua.
"Ini sangat memalukan, seolah TNI/Polri tidak mampu lakukan pengamanan aset nasional. Dan seolah tambang Freeport milik Amerika," tukas peneliti Future Institute ini.
